Clearing Out Your PC's Cache
Every time you visit a new website, content is automatically stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder on your PC, otherwise known as "cache" (pronounced "cash.")

These temporary Internet files aren't harmful, but they can become a nuisance by slowing down your PC's hard drive and taking up storage space.

Fortunately, clearing out your Temporary Internet Files folder is just as quick and easy as washing ink off your hands.

How to clear out your cache in Internet Explorer

  1. Open your Internet Explorer web browser.
  2. Click Tools and then Internet Options.
  3. Under Browsing History, select Delete, then click Temporary Internet Files and Delete Files.

A fresh start

By removing the temporary Internet files from your hard drive, you've cleared valuable space and taken an important step in maximizing the performance of your PC.
