Overview
The Compaq Basic Smart Card Keyboard provides heightened network security, simplified computer access, and secure eCommerce transactions while reducing the costs associated with managing corporate networks. This flexibly designed, industry standard enhancement product is part of the Compaq Smart Card product line. Compaq Smart Card products are designed to provide cost-effective, mainstream solutions to prevent unauthorized access and provide digital transactions in secure environments.
Functionality and Uses
Smart Card technology has been contained in a full-sized IBM compatible keyboard. The Compaq Basic Smart Card Keyboard conforms to industry standard guidelines that measure ease in computer connectivity and hardware setup. The keyboard's high impact materials and lubricated keys provide long product life and quiet operation.
Performance
The Smart Card logon features of the Compaq Basic Smart Card Keyboard use digital signatures and certificates to enable secure eCommerce and eBusiness transactions on both public and private networks. For an even greater level of security, the keyboard can be combined with a Compaq Fingerprint Identification Reader.

Compatibility
Compaq Basic Smart Card Keyboard is compatible with all Compaq Deskpro En Series Desktops, Minitowers, and Small Form Factor computers, Compaq Deskpro EP Series computers, Compaq workstations, and ISO-7816 and PC/SC compliant smart cards and software. The Compaq Basic Smart Card Keyboard is also compatible with Compaq Evo products.
Service and Support
The Compaq Basic Smart Card Keyboard has a one-year limited warranty or the remainder of the warranty of the Compaq product in which it is installed. Technical support is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, by phone, as well as online support forums. Certain restrictions and exclusions apply.
