The HP Insight Management Pack (IMP) for Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM) integrates event monitoring and alert processing for HP ProLiant servers into MOM 2000.
The IMP integration builds upon the core elements of HP Insight Management Agents to complement and extend MOM and to maximize existing IT investments. HP customers who implement MOM for enterprise-class event and performance monitoring can use the IMP to help streamline IT administration and increase systems availability by viewing events for Microsoft Windows operating systems, Windows applications, and HP hardware through a common MOM 2000 interface.
The HP IMP includes an extensive collection of predefined rules and scripts that automatically identify HP ProLiant servers and provide alert notifications to potential problems through the MOM 2000 console interface. Comprehensive knowledgebase data provided with the IMP aids in problem analysis and time-to-resolution. Over 650 event processing rules include alert forwarding definitions that enable administrators to take prompt corrective or preventive action, reducing unnecessary down time. HP hardware alerts in MOM 2000 also include an embedded browser launch to the HP System Management Homepage (SMH) that displays a consolidated view of single system status and configuration based on data collected by the Insight Management Agents. The SMH also provides access to other HP Web-based management tools such as the Version Control Agents, Insight Management Diagnostics, and the Array Configuration Utility.
