HP integrated Citrix XenServer combines the performance, security, and openness of the XenServer product line with easy-to-use HP ProLiant Virtual Console to
simplify virtual deployments. Designed for new users of virtualization technology, HP ProLiant Virtual Console (PVC) provides a simple to use GUI interface for single server virtual machine management, without the need for a separate management server or even a network. PVC comes standard with all HP integrated Citrix XenServer options, allowing local virtual machine creation and management using the server's KVM keyboard/video/mouse (KVM). The virtual machine creation and management experience is greatly enhanced with the HP iLO2 Advanced Pack (sold separately), which provides a number of powerful features, including remote access of virtual machine consoles, as well as virtual media capabilities.

- ProLiant Virtual Console (PVC) is an HP-developed tool that allows users to set up and manage a virtualized server in much the same way they do currently for a non-virtualized server
- The intuitive user interface starts on the local console from the time the server initially boots up. Users can create virtual machines, install software for those virtual machines, and manage VMs and resources from the console.
- While the virtual machines are running, the user can also interact with each virtual machine by using a hot-key to select it, similar to a KVM switch; it even allows users to interact with up to 4 or 9 VMs on the screen at the same time.
- Since PVC uses the standard local console, the entire experience can also be run remotely using the virtual console feature of Integrated Lights-Out Advanced or through a standard external KVM switch. PVC complements the single-server or multi-server remote management capabilities that virtualization vendors supply by also offering a console that does not require a separate networked client
- PVC is currently bundled with select HP-delivered licenses of Citrix XenServer or Citrix XenDesktop; it can also be downloaded and separately licensed for other Citrix XenServer or Citrix XenDesktop licenses
