The HP Encryption SAN Switch scales non-disruptively, providing up to 96 Gb/sec of encryption processing power to meet the needs of the most demanding environments with on-demand performance. It also is tightly integrated with HP Secure Key Manager which provides centralized enterprise-class key management.
The Encryption Switch is based on industry standards for data-at-rest encryption to provide centralized, scalable encryption services that seamlessly integrate into existing B-Series FOS and M-Series M-EOS environments.
The B-Series fabric-based approach to data encryption scales to meet performance requirements, provides a centralized point of management for storage security and key management. Deployment is simple and non-disruptive: Organizations can encrypt data from any switch port without reconfiguring the fabric.
The HP Encryption SAN Switch is managed and configured using HP’s DCFM management tools, and is easily integrated into existing network infrastructures.

 |
High Performance encryption for data-at-rest
- High performance: High performance, scalable fabric-based encryption to enforce data confidentiality and privacy requirements.
- Non-disruptive scalable performance: Scales non-disruptively, providing 48 to 96 Gbit/sec of encryption processing power to meets the needs of the most demanding environments with flexible, on demand performance.
- Achieve compliance with regulatory mandates: Industry Standard AES-256 encryption algorithms for both disk and tape on a single security platform for SAN environments.
Central management for fabric-based encryption
- Intelligence layer at the storage fabric: The vast majority of data from critical applications reside in the SAN – enabling organizations to leverage the existing intelligence layer in the storage fabric for encryption.
- Centralized framework: The storage fabric enables centralized management to support nearly every aspect of the data center, from server environments and workstations to edge computing and backup environments. As a result, it is an ideal place to standardize and consolidate a holistic data-at-rest security strategy.
Investment protection
- Integrated key management for simplicity: The HP Encryption SAN Switch and HP Secure Key Manager are integrated to provide Federal Information Processing Standards 140 (FIPS140-2) level 2 compliance to enable trusted key sharing between remote sites in a comprehensive solution.
- Reduce operational costs: Manage and configure using existing and familiar HP Data Center Fabric Manager and CLI management tools, and is easily integrated into existing network infrastructures.
- Investment protection: Based on industry standards, the HP Encryption SAN Switch for data at rest provides centralized scalable encryption services that seamlessly integrate into existing B-series Fabric OS (FOS) and M-series M-Enterprise OS (M-EOS) environments.
Installation without disruption or changes
- Simple and non-disruptive: Encrypt data from any switch port without reconfiguring the SAN fabric and implement provisioning without shutting down applications or changing Logical Unit Number (LUN) mapping and LUN masking configurations on the target storage arrays.
- Increased productivity: Implement provisioning without shutting down applications or changing Logical Unit Number (LUN) mapping and LUN masking configurations on the target storage arrays.
